Since 2011 students from Bennett have been visiting our partner school in Mpwapwa, Tanzania. After the very positive assemblies led by the students who visited last July we are now asking students to apply to take part in visits proposed for July 2017 and 2018.
The pdf and letter below contains the key information you will need to apply.
Students who go will spend ten days working alongside and supporting the learning of the students in our partner school, Mwanakianga secondary school. For those travelling in 2018 students will also visit the Neema Crafts project in Iringa. To find out more about the inspiring Neema Crafts read their website here.
Students travelling in 2017 and 2018 will also take part in a day safari at the end of the trip at the wonderful Mikumi National park.
The visit is not advertised as a ‘holiday’ but rather a life changing experience where any problems become opportunities for the development of one’s own personal character. The trip is about Bennett students growing in confidence and leadership. In the immediate short term what students will learn and experience on this trip will be invaluable in strengthening university applications and developing skills of leadership. In the longer term it will help shape students own worldview about what it means to live life in all its fullness.
