Students complete Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award

Bennett are proud to announce the first of the completions of this year’s Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants. With seven of our year 13 students finishing the award before the end of 2017 and a further three so far this year we have recorded our earliest completions of the award.

The Gold Award cannot be completed in less than 12 months: to complete the volunteering, skill and physical sections, as well as the expeditions and a residential activity, into the first year of a busy sixth form shows a determined approach to the award and excellent time management skills. Among the highlights for students was carrying out their expedition in the breath-taking beauty, but also challenging conditions, of the Brecon Beacons and the Peak District’s National Park.

Students will be presented with their Gold Award badge at our DofE Awards Evening on 28th February 2018 by the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells. In due course they will all receive their Gold Award certificate at a presentation in St James’s Palace. The school are extremely proud of this outstanding achievement.
