Thinking of becoming a teacher?

Are you interested in training to be a teacher at Bennett?

We have vacancies at Bennett now to start training from September 2015 and we would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is.

Bennett is part of a growing number of schools leading the way for more school led teacher training. We consider it important to train as many of our own teachers as possible as it means that we can choose the very best talent and develop them into outstanding teachers. We believe that being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us achieve the very best outcomes for our students.

We are looking for applicants who have (or will have) a degree, have a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential. We are able to offer teacher training in English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, geography, history, languages and religious education so your degree will need to be in one of those subjects or one very closely related to them. As one of the top schools nationally we believe training at Bennett is one of the best ways of beginning a career in teaching.

If this is something that interests you please come to our ‘Get into teaching’ information evening at 7.00pm, Monday 24th November in the sixth form centre. If you can’t attend then another is planned for 15th January. You will be able to hear more about training to teach at Bennett and meet all the key staff involved with teacher training as well as some recent Bennett trained teachers. To confirm whether you will come it would be very useful if you could email our HR managers, Anna Taylor and Suzanne Dillingham ([email protected])

If you would like to talk further about this exciting opportunity please do also contact Anna or Suzanne on 01892 774606. They will also be able to arrange for you some ‘school experience’ visits if you want a taste of what teaching could be like.

To find out more on what becoming a teacher might involve more generally you can visit http://www.education.gov.uk/get-into-teaching. If you know this is right for you (or someone you might know) you can apply now too. Just go to the UCAS teacher training website to apply: http://www.ucas.com/how-it-all-works/teacher-training If you need any guidance with your application please just contact Mrs Taylor or Mrs Dillingham at school.
